Duane Anderson, MD

Dr. Anderson came to Soddo Christian Hospital in southern Ethiopia as a full time missionary orthopedic surgeon in 2005. Since then, he has helped make Soddo an Orthopedic referral center for all of Ethiopia and trained many capable African orthopedic surgeons. He is part of the PAACS orthopedic residency program in Soddo and is currently involved in an expansion of the OR facilities funded by a grant from USAID. Dr. Anderson has recognized the need for more resources for hip and knee arthroplasty as the implants he currently uses are expensive and not reliably available. This has resulted in hundreds of needy Ethiopians going without surgery that would allow them to better provide for their families and live free of pain. Dr. Anderson and his team at Soddo Christian Hospital are eager to begin implanting the World Knee in 2021.
